If I were to ask you to stop thinking, what is the first thing you would think?
Of course, once you are asked to shut off your mind, it is like someone revs up its engine to go full force.
This is accepted, understood, but at the same time you are the one with the foot on the accelerator!
Think of how profound this concept is and how it makes you feel? And then know you have so much more control than you THINK to slow down the mind. To ease off the accelerator.
We appreciate it may not be easy, comfortable, or commonsense to you at first. But we ask you to stretch this concept out a bit, sit with it, absorb it, and begin to challenge the overriding demands of your racing mind. One intruding thought at a time.
When the thought rolls in, acknowledge it, thank it, and then simply dismiss it without holding onto it in your mind to create congestion, stress, or confusion. Imagine putting it into a thought bubble and sending it floating off and away!
